Nice looking truck, Bob!

You guys can seriously get 20mpg out of a heavy truck like that?   Shocked
I'm lucky if I can squeeze 16 out my WJ, and that's driving like an old man.

Gotta love diesel for that reason!  The 18 wheelers can squeeze 6mpg out of diesel.  TDI Jettas can get ~50 mpg.

Very nice truck bob. Shocked

Looks like it will be a serious upgrade from the minivan.

I have a question, with diesel at the price it is now, it is more expensive or less expensive to get 20mpg at diesel prices than 15mpg at 87 octane?

Any way you look at it, to have the same power for towing, diesel is cheaper than gas.

Especially when towing with a gas truck...the mpg rating can drop to single digits.

diesel is about $1 more than 87 currently, i get 18 or 19 mpg around town (actually my last tank of diesel i averaged 21.4mpg) and towing i get any where from 12 to 14 mpg average.  my buddy same year truck w / a hemi, gets about 12/ 13 mpg around town.  but towing he gets 7 or 8, pretty simple math really. plus diesel trucks hold a resale vaule that is way higher than gas trucks, diesel trucks run far longer (miles on the road), my power when pulljng a trailer is amazing (my buddy with the gassser i always haver to wait for after going up any sort of grade or when merging onto the highway) and as great bonus: i can pretty much kick any crappy coffeee can exhaust having import POS car off the line with my truck. not only do i usually win, i get the honor of smoking them out.  hahahahaha

I didnt know you ran biodiesel.  When you start making your own, make a thread about it.  I love the idea of using WVO to make fuel!

honestly, i won't make a thread about it.  it is pretty cool but not "thread worthy" in my opinion
