I'm sure you will be using some jack stands to support the jeep but I figured I'd say it anyways.

I use a piece of 3/4 plywood on a floor jack to lower the tank enough to disconnect the fuel lines and electrical. 

Good progress!

The tank is pretty empty as I anticipated this step ahead of time
Posi that sounds like a solid plan using the plywood. Also, I have my engine hoist rigged up to the rear of the frame and 6 ton stands as well

I use my harbor freight transmission jack. It makes it an easy 1 man job.

didnt make it to the garage today...working overnight till 6am with 2 hours of sleep in the last 24 combined with incredible sleeping weather, heavy rain and overcast, made it impossible to get up and over to my dads.

however, got a nice picture sent to me from Bay State Bob showing my 14 bolt ring pattern....if he's satisfied with it than I know it must be good.

IMO shave the lower lips and leave the rest complete, this could happen if you decide a cut and plate to much off. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=972314

I ran a shaved lower lip 14 bolt for years, yes it got snagged on the smallest rock ( or stump damm Swanzy trail ) but it never broke and never let me down.

was planning on the shave....not interested in cutting it AT ALL.

no prob jon, I dont mind you expressing your opinion.  Some other guy, jeepgod i think, said the same thing.  He offered up a buddys negative impression but never really gave any useful info.  

If you dont mind, provide more of a review of the issues/problems/short-comings/etc, as it would be more helpful to me than just calling them stupid, useless and overpriced.

FWIW, a portion of the decision process to run ORI's was that literally everything I have read, yes read as I dont personally know anyone who has them, was very positive with the only negative being price and wait time.  I reached out to a few guys through PM on Pirate that I knew ran them and they also had nothing but positive things to say.
