I wanted to build something cool, learn some new skills....so I jumped in on a 1-ton, money burning project after selling my harley last fall

my build plan, which has changed 1,000,000 times is this:

2006 LJ
4.0L, auto trans
241 T-case
Ford D60
14 bolt
42's
full hydro
4 link front and rear
ORI's

I have purchased all of the above mentioned parts and currently i am tearing down the jeep while I await the arrival of my freshly re-geared 1 tons, which are being done by BayStateBob.  I have given myself a 6 month window to get this thing driveable.  I will be working on it as much as possible between now and then with my only responsibilities being work, overtime and the gym.  I will be asking a LOT of questions and trying to document as much of the process as possible.

BTW, this build is going down at my parents house in Seekonk, MA where there is a fridge in the garage and a incredible take out BBQ place around the corner.

Here goes nothing....
Andrew

ori= waste of money

they suck in rocks and high speed

good luck with that

oh and i know a guy who was sponsored by them; aka got them free! after running them for a while i asked what he thought of them. his exact words were "cant wait to get rid of them"  get them for free and still hate them. i would say that is a huge reason to not run them. i can get you in touch with him if you want real first hand account of them.

Im workin on getting pics up

As for the ORI'S, I searched them and read great reviews, hardly anything negative.  I liked that they are not typical and, assuming that as advertised, they would eliminate the  need for airbumps and swaybars.

Jeepgod I would like to speak with your buddy, just to hear his opinion and get the other side of the coin..

And a set of kings with reservoirs, air bumps, and swaybars come out to some serious $$ too.

At the end of the day I know if I end up changing my mind on them I will have no problem getting rid of them and prob get 99% of my money back as the turnaround time is around 8-12 weeks in most cases.

so far I am having a blast just tearing it down and planning my attack.  I want to get the stock axles out of there by the end of next week so the following monday I can work on cleaning up the frame and getting the tires mounted.

On that note, it seems most go with the plastic bb's from Walmart, but i read about some folks who put golf balls in instead and achieved great results.  Any of you guys heard or even tried this method?  Seems crazy but I like crazy....
