Ever had one of those days, but not one of those days?
« on: June 19, 2015, 12:30:56 PM »
I ordered the new wheels for my jeep on monday through Summit Racing.  I get prompted at check out that they are back ordered till 7/24/2015 which is OK with me since the jeep hasn't moved in a while and probably wont be moving for a while... ::)

Almost immediately after hitting submit I get an email from Summit with my receipt and at the top it says "expected arrival on 7/24/2015." and Temporarily out of stock estimated shipping date 7/24/2015 etc..  All good, no prob!

On Tuesday I get another email from Matt at Summit telling me that 7/24 is the expected ship date and that in reality, I should have them between the 26-28th of July.  SUmmit does not inventory these wheels and they come direct from Pro Comp and applogized for the inconvience.  I replied telling him that I appreciate it and it is not a problem.

Went home for my lunch beer today and there are four boxes with rims in them sitting in front of my garage. opened it up and it is exactly what I odered.

It is rare to have things like this happen in this hobby, but when it does, feels like I won something.

Hope you're going with a 2.5" ram.  There's a whole lotta scrub radius with that backspacing!

I rocking back spacing like it's still 1987!

15x10 with 2.5" of back spacing, it will be wide as all heck. I might change it down the road.

One of the guys in Deepwoods made a mistake when ordering his beadlocks. He had basically did the same thing  even with a wheelbase stretch his width was 2" shorter than his wheel base

At 85", I don't think I would want to be any wider.  It can get pretty tight when manuvering around trees.

It's a one car garage, not sure more than one person will fit in it, but anyone is welcome to come and drink my beer.

I've been working on it slowly.  I'll put in an hour here and there. I would like for it to be done by next season, but probably not.  I just need to order some stock and then burn in the rear then for all intent the rear will be complete.  Front is going to take a lot more time.

I slapped the rims on my pick up just to visually see how wide it will be... These are going back. they have some 15x8 with 3.5" of backspacing that I think will be better, just more caliper grinding to get them to fit
