Yeah, so I'm looking for seats for my YJ. I'm going to have a full cage with 5-point harnesses, will I need to get seats that have Cutouts for the shoulder straps or are those not neccesary? Also, what are you guys running for seats and what would you reccomend?

I run Racetrim, suspension seat at a good price, there are better though.

All I will suggest is avoid the smitty built and the huskar (sp) seats, neither have any durability what so ever. The Huskar that I am refering too are the cheap JC Whitney seats, a pair for $150 or something like that. I might have the name confused.

Corbeau or prp is what I would recommend

I ran corbeau, baja SS in 2 rigs and now run ultras, in the koh buggy we run corbeau xp seats. These have all been great seats. Although the best ones to sit in for a long time are the xp, of course they are the most expensive.

My buddy runs prp seats in his koh rig and they are very nice but not cheap

People say the racetrim seats wear out quick, I have no first hand experience with this though. I did sit in a set that my buddy has in his jeep for awhile and I didn't think they were as nice as the baja SS  I had at the time

My racetrims are starting to out.  I bought prp seat covers to help them live longer.

The longevity of the race trim will not compare to a twisted stitch or prp, etc which is perhaps the trade off for the price.

To add some longevity, I make sure vacuuming the seats as part of post trail inspection, covering them to protect from the elements, plus my jeep is garaged when not used. Mine are 3years old and still look great basically because I am anal about maintenance.

One of my gripes is the tweed like fabric, dirt gets easily embedded into the fabric and can stain and be a pita to clean.

If I need another set, i'll probably shell out more money for something a little more durable.

I went with the Race Trim. Really a no brainer looking at the price of seats.

Now I'd appreciate it if you guys helped me find a set of harnesses. I have no idea, what so ever, what I'm looking for.

Crowe, RCI, Simpson, etc. If they are SFI approved, they will meet racing safety standards.

I suggest checking out swap meets, I found a pair of RCI 5points for $80 a pair. They were out dated so you could no longer use them in a race car. Mine in particular were from a show car so use was limited. If you buy used, inspect the latching, the webbing, joint stitching. If anything looks loose or worn, that would raise an eye brow.
