Anybody interested in buying one if those metal carports you see at several businesses around stating "Only $1095", check in to who the actual bulilder is. Most likely you are not doing business with a local business but instead some out of state business that doesn't really care about you once they get your money.
Here's my story ( kind of short version):
Back at the beginning of November 2006 I stopped by Aqua Wood Pools and Spas off exit 17N of interstate 87 they had one of those carports outside I checked it out and it looked pretty decent for the price,so I ordered one. The one I ordered was 20 x 26. I ordered it with the sides installed and with boxed eves(roof came to a point and has regular eves instead of being rounded down the sides) and 8 foot walls. It cost me $2565.00 plus tax. AquaWood collected the down payment of 10% the rest to be paid after install.
At the end of November I finally got an install date ( after several calls to Eagle Carports). On November 28,2006 a pick-up truck with a trailer and three mexicans(please don't complain that I said this. it is a fact) that appeared to speak broken english so I couldn't really talk with them, from I believe it was North Carolina pulled into my driveway. They were the install guys. They put the building up in about an hour and a half. It looked alright so I signed the paperwork and paid with a credit card.
The next day I started boxing in the ends to make it a garage. 2 or 3 days after the install it rained. The roof leaked in several places along the seams. I contacted AquaWood, since they are the people I thought was doing business with. they stated they didn't have anything to do with "those" building after they fax in the order. So they collected $256 of my money to send a fax and now don't really care about my problem. They told me to call Eagle Carports which I did on December 6,2006. They acknowleded that they have been having "some"problems with those installers but would have the leaks fixed ASAP. After not hearing from them for a week I called them and I was told that ASAP would be in about 3 or 4 weeks. I told them that it would be snowing in 3 or 4 weeks. They went on to tell me that I can't expect them to send somebody from down there all the way up here just to fix my roof. I told them that I did. They put it up wrong now they can fix it.
Here's the short part It is now March 27th 2007. My roof still leaks. I have talked to Eagle Carports way too many times to say. I have been lied to by them over and over again. They continue to accept responsibility for the shoddy workmanship, but only to the extent that it was the sub-contrators fault and that they would fix it the next time they are up here.
I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Last month they told me the last thing they needed was a contractor to say the roof was installed improperly, which no one wants to do because there is too much snow on the roof for them to see what was done. I explained that to the credit card company and also told them the only way for a metal roof to leak 2 days after it was done was if it was put up wrong. That didn't get me anywhere. I just got paperwork saying they are dropping the dispute.
I just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We'll see what happens there. Eagle Carports has over 60 complaints against them already http://www.vabbb.org/reportsframe.htm click on link and type in Eagle Carports. The same people also have another carport business Tri-State Carports, Inc which also has several complaints against them.
So make sure you know where the carport is coming from. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH EAGLE CARPORTS OR TRI-STATE CARPORTS Ask the local business you are buying from if they care if you have any problems with the building after they get your money. I have done alot of business with Aqua Wood in the past but yet they still want nothing to do with my problems with the buildig I bought from "them".
The funny thing is that they have 2 of these buildings on their property. The roof caved in on one of them. Wonder if they care about that? See pics:

Any qustions feel free to ask! Or call Eagle direct at 1-800-579-8589 and ask them about their customer satisfaction policy. It's a free call. Sure would be a shame if their phone lines got tied up with a bunch of calls from "all the way up " here.
Thanks for reading. I feel a little tiny bit better now.
