Ok just my little advice about building your jeep. Make sure you think of the long term effects of turning your jeep into a total trail machine. I have no idea how far you are going to take your build but at some point you will certainly want to go"all in" with it and when that happens you will take a jeep that is currently street able and make it useless for anything other than trails.

Now a few years ago I would have said "F it! Go all in" but now I can tell you that having a jeep that you can do more than just trail ride is way more fun. 

Just a little advice from a guy who has had completely streetable to completely off road only jeep to full tube buggy and now back to building a streetable off road true dual purpose jeep.

That's why I was thinking only going to 100. Just not sure if I'll regret it in the long run.  Cause then I can keep a rear fender and technically pass a sticker and keep it on the road.  I barely drive it as it is but I do enjoy driving it.

Honestly, think about it. So you won't be able to run the uber hardcore trails without pulling cable every once in a while, oh well

I know guys who run crazy hard trails and they have stock wheelbases, 100" is plenty. just keep it as low as possible. On my cj5 I now run stock yj springs (used to be 4" yj springs) with around a 95" wheelbase and I cut the tub more and run 37" sticky krawlers. It's so much more stable and I can pretty much go anywhere I want. Although the cj has seen better days, much better days. This is a trail only cj, it was to far gone to bring back.

My commando is currently getting tons, it is spring over and 37" tires but it will be street legal at all costs. That's the jeep I enjoy the most now, I can go get ice cream with the family or I will be able to run hard trails with the fam

So I got a questions for all those running a rci fuel cell.  What are you using for a gasket in your cap?  The original o-ring lasted a week before expanding and becoming useless.  The replacement o-ring I found lasted a couple months but just did it as well.   So what gives, what type of o-ring do I need?

its been awhile since I added to this and we are dead at work and im bored.  so why not.

decided to add some protection for the girly or anybody else in the passenger seat...



since my plans have changed just a little these past few months, I needed to come up with a way to pass a sticker again this year.  so I drilled some holes bolted on the stock rear flares and made some new ones for the front.

I also added a gen-right prerunner style tire carrier, just no pics of it yet, cause its not 100% finished and painted yet...as soon as I get it done, ill take some pics.  also hoping to get the corbeau Baja ss seats ordered up in the next couple of days.

I've been driving the jeep a lot too and from work and around town, love the way it drives now with weight over the rear tires.   It's like a whole different jeep.  But I've noticed a lot of raw fuel smell.  More than usual.  I've looked for leaks but can't find any, I'm not setting any codes, so I'm assuming my system is good and sealed.   So why can I smell it?  What can I do to get rid of it?   The cell is right behind the front seats, all Russell fittings and hoses.

Did you spill during filling? Never had a fuel smell from mine.

No evap would lead me to believe it is sealed.
