I used Summit stainless braided hoses, and I swear that the fuel fumes seep out through the hose.  If you smell the hose, you can smell gas.  Not sure what's going on, but it's not leaking.

On really hot days you would get a small smell cause I don't have a charcoal canister but this is a lot stronger.   I have been having issues with the o-ring inside the filler cap but I'll have to check it again.

How is your breather setup?    Mine leaks gas smell from there.

its routed down under the jeep over to the passenger rear fender where the charcoal canister and evap stuff was, and hooked up to the nvld pump and then to the vent...so basically factory minus the charcoal canister.


im gonna swap the o-ring on the filler neck today with a new one and see if it changes anything.   got in the jeep this morning no smell, as soon as I started the jeep, I got the smell.

How is the cell mounted.  I know some of the early RCI cells have the small tangs on the bottom that look like mounting provisions, but there should have been a sticker to not use them as mounting points. I wonder if there is a very fine hair line crack in that area that is slowly leaking.  If the leak is constantly surrounded by the fuel, you may not get a EVAP code.

artec mount....I thought about that as well...I plan on working on it for a little tonight so im gonna take all my crap out of the back and see what I can find...I hope its not cracked

found a small fuel leak at the core pump ring....fun....


took it all apart last night and dumped the whole tube of seal all around the ring and tightened it all back together.  unfortunately I broke a bolt but it appears to be sealed again...or at least no fumes on the drive home and then back to work today...so we will see

quick update on fuel cell...still leaking.  its coming all back apart and either getting completely welded or im making a new one. 

on a different note....only broke the left u-joint at the BBQ.  all back together now.  ill post up the pics when I get them loaded

Finally sold the cobra a few months ago.  So I went and bought another jeep, this one is less jeep more buggy than I originally wanted.  But I couldn't pass it up.  It needs a little work but nothing I can't figure out.  

It's a 1999 TJ that was backhalfed.  Custom cage and rockers all tied to the frame.  The floor ends right behind the seats.  It's a 4.0 with I think roughly 135k but not sure cause the cluster didn't work when I got it and I swapped in a junk yard one and it's got less miles.  . 5speed with a twin sticked atlas.  Not sure on the reduction but it crawls pretty slow.  Dana 60 front and rear.  Rear is a Detroit and front is an ARB. I think stock shafts front and rear but has Yukon u-joints.  5.13 gearing.   4 link front and rear.  Double triangulated rear.  16" air shocks front and rear.  40" creepy crawlers.  


It went really well today at the summit.  Need to definitely lower air pressure and fix my sticking hiem cause that bastard gets annoying fast.    But otherwise I'm impressed for its first run.  I'll get more pics up soon.  


I still got the 05.  It's going to the wifey as her wheeler...with some slight modification from its present form.
