so...I gave it a few days and now the level is sitting just below the shafts in the housing, and has stopped leaking out the tubes....so im a dumb ass and overfilled it.  when I have some time this winter and hopefully some space ill take it apart and replace all the seals in both axles, but for now im just gonna run it and hope for the best.  its not like im going to be racing it.

It will not be an issue, I'd almost guarantee it.

I know.  There is still at the minimum 1 quart of fluid if it leaked out to the bottom of the tubes.  So I'm not really worried.

look up dana 60 bible on pirate

i remember printing out a bunch of this info so i would have to keep getting my phone dirty (or ask time)

i'd recomend to just 3 hole punch it and add it to a binder for later reference.

Minor update....the buggy now has a roof and a working cb.  Just need to tune it.  I'm hoping by the end of the day it will have some tunes and some fresh fluids and be all ready for the bbq next weekend.

Buggy worked awesome at the bbq.  Climbed everything I tried.  Found a few flaws but otherwise was a great weekend.  Found the source of the fuel leak. The entire section added into the fuel cell for the factory pump was cracked.  So that cell is now gone.  Plan was to shoe horn in the Rci 2161 I had originaly in the 05 but earlier this summer swapped out for a 2162.  Well it didn't fit. So I could either redesign the whole rear section of cage or mount it in my cargo area.  Well that's the plan for now.  We shall see how it turns out.

Yesterday was the first time I have ever welded without gas using flux core.  It's different but no harder.  Just took some time to learn the machine. The welds are not gonna win any awards but they are strong.  Thanks again Bob for the welder.  I'm gonna put it to good use in the next coming months redoing the cage. Definitely going to ipgrade to gas though, before I start structural welding.

For some reason I have it in my memory that flux-core burns hotter and can do thicker material.   Is that true if your machine?    Gas certainly makes a nicer weld.

I'm not sure if you can weld thicker material with flux core or not.  This is my first experience with it.

Yes,flux does run hotter.  I used to go through welding gloves more frequently before I was setup for mig.  I prefer mig; less toxic smoke, easier to see the puddle, less post weld cleanup.  Many of the welds on the MJ were done with flux core and are still holding on strong today.

i keep a roll of flux core .030 in my tool box at all times for 2 reasons.  If i run out of gas in mid project and if i have to weld outside for a good bit.
